Our W2 Labs programme is tasked with finding start-ups with solutions to our business challenges. Many of those start-ups we are now working with are in the early stages of their development but some, such as ZigZag, already have commercial products on the market.
With the unrelenting rise in eCommerce comes the challenge of cost-effectively and efficiently handling returns. ZigZag is a platform that allows customers to manage customer returns though an online branded portal and includes services for retailers such as the ability to grade returned products, consolidate, re-sell, refurbish, locally redistribute, recycle or destroy stock. ZigZag has already enjoyed a level of industry success and was recently named winner of the 2017 Sustainability Innovation Award.
With an existing product already on the market, our relationship with ZigZag varies from those of our other W2 Labs participants. For us, we have the opportunity to work with a small, agile business with a product that has real-world data demonstrating success and with the proper support could now grow and evolve in to a tool we can use to tackle our specific business challenges.

We’re already confident in our ZigZag solution and have many customers who enjoy the benefits we can provide. However, logistics is a huge industry and there are many verticals we have not yet touched on. With the guidance and support of the Wincanton team we have been able to look at new and innovative ways of using the ZigZag platform to improve the returns process in other sectors.”
With the ability to sit beside existing software and solutions, we’re proving the concept and expect to implement a live trial soon. We will continue to work with the ZigZag team to demonstrate how the solution can be deployed within our operations.
