As part of its ongoing commitment to good practice, Wincanton has secured the Cyber Essentials Plus standard.

This accreditation is an independent recognition of the security measures that Wincanton has in place to protect its technology and data. The Cyber Essentials scheme is a cyber security standard created by the UK Government in partnership with UK business.

The scheme identifies the IT security controls that an organisation must have in place within their IT systems in order to have confidence that they are addressing cyber security effectively and mitigating the risk from Internet-based threats.

Richard Gifford, CIO at Wincanton, commented:

"This accreditation acknowledges the defences we have in place, which protect our own business and the operations we run for our customers. This independent certification sets us apart from competitors in the market and underpins our commitment to best practice in this area."
