Wincanton has been appointed to manage Britvic’s new, state-of-the-art warehouse facility in Rugby, Warwickshire.

Operations at the circa 273,000 sq. ft. site went live last month. This contract is in addition to Wincanton’s current brief to manage the drinks company’s main distribution centre at Lutterworth, Leicestershire. The contract award extends the relationship to 2025.

Wincanton will provide engineering and technical support as well as stock management and warehousing for the new 33,000 pallet facility.   At full capacity, it is anticipated that the new operation will clear 376 pallets of goods per hour and dispatch 240 loads every 24 hours.

Ian Keilty, MD Retail & Consumer at Wincanton, said:

"We are delighted to be continuing our relationship with Britvic.

"The Lutterworth site is Britvic’s key distribution centre for the UK and the team there is highly experienced. This award is a tribute to their hard work and dedication to client service.

"Our experience in managing automated warehouses stood us in good stead to deal with this new facility which will be one of the largest, automated pallet high bay warehouses for soft drinks in Europe."
