Innovation is at the heart of all we do; from our daily operations, through short term plans to our vision for the future. It is in our people, our technology and our approach to how we best solve our customers’ most pressing issues, supporting their commercial ambitions and business bottom line.
With over 17,500 colleagues, Wincanton has a wealth of experience and knowledge to draw upon, a pool of innovators and challengers. But it’s not just our staff; through an ecosystem of industry-leading partners, we are striving to address some of the industry’s greatest challenges. By integrating proven, best-in-class technologies into solutions for our clients, we can be sure we are offering cost-efficiency, visibility and speed to market across our customers' supply chains.
Innovation is not merely a buzz word at Wincanton. It is a tangible (and critical) part of our business. Our W² labs programme, for example, was launched in 2017 to encourages start-ups to pitch ideas for how digitisation can drive improvement across the supply chain. With 90 original applications and 24 start-ups invited to pitch, six businesses were invited to progress to the development stage. These projects are an ongoing and we are already seeing results. We believe that initiatives like this have the potential to shape the future of the UK logistics industry.
In a culture where ideas are nurtured and employees given the freedom and support to progress their ideas, innovation becomes a very real part of what we do.
