“Women bring something new into transport.” Jo Markham - Transport Manager, Wincanton for Roper Rhodes.
Fewer than 14% of the UK’s logistics professionals are female (Logistics UK). Although we know that gender should not be a barrier to any career, the perception that the supply chain industry is a ‘man’s world’ remains for some.
As a business, Wincanton is striving to change this mindset.
Our Wincanton for Roper Rhodes Transport Team is proof that gender means nothing when it comes to the supply chain. Nikki Foley, Jo Markham, Nicola Jay and Kate Emmery make up this department, managing all deliveries across the whole of the country every day on behalf of the bathroom retailer.
We joined the team in Portbury, Somerset, to talk about their roles, why they love being a part of the supply chain industry, why gender doesn’t matter, and why more women should follow in their footsteps.
