Our container storage facilities offer our customers the opportunity to increase efficiencies and drive down costs. As global supply chains extend, the ability to migrate containers closer to their final destination lessens the risk of container deliveries being affected by port or road congestion and other situations are out of our customers’ control. Wincanton's off-quay storage solutions provide the advantage of enabling short lead time call-off for specific products that are urgently required and, as inland hubs, they provide significantly cheaper storage than quay rent.

At both Alconbury and Greenham Common we offer short, medium and long term container storage solutions at very competitive rates to suit all customers' requirements.

Adding value at Alconbury

Wincanton's flagship container storage site at Alconbury stores over 6,000 containers across an impressive 19 acre facility. The site operates 24/7 to meet demand and is supported by our container control system, as well as in-cab technology which is being integrated within all mechanical handling equipment. This will provide improved dwell time, better performance and more efficiencies in data flow.

To complement our off-quay storage at Alconbury we also offer a reworking and devanning service, with basic warehousing available for split-shipments or cargo consolidation.
