Container haulage and container storage

Container transport
We provide charter, spot and integrated fleet solutions for customers to ensure we cover traffic flows and use the right mix of vehicles for specific needs.  We also manage container movements by rail from all major UK ports to terminals in the Midlands and the M62 corridor.

Container storage
Our inland laden container storage facilities at Alconbury and Greenham Common provide a cheaper solution to quay rent and place stock closer to London and the Midlands, enabling a quicker delivery response.

Specialist container logistics services
We have side loaders, low loaders and tipper trailers and are licensed to carry all classes of hazardous cargo. For difficult or dangerous loads we have a specialist service to suit every customer requirement.

Tail-lift skeletal trailers
The introduction of the innovative tail-lift skeletal trailers now allows Wincanton to re-load containers without the need for dock levellers. This means that containers can be reloaded anywhere, for the return leg back to port or for onward delivery from DC to store, thereby increasing efficiency and helping the environment.
