Water supply for events, festivals and concerts

Wincanton has over 20 years’ experience in providing on-site water services. Our water services team is the largest dedicated alternative water provider with a nationwide service. Wincanton provides a flexible and scalable water provision service to support all levels of event, from local, small-scale through to large outdoor festivals and film sets, in fact we have long-term partnerships with some of the UK’s largest and most well-known festivals.

Delivering safe, potable water solutions

We maintain a range of equipment to support the provision of drinking water, including a nationwide fleet of over 230 food grade tankers, 100 flatbed/crane vehicles and a pool of drivers. We can provide flexible solutions for drinking water deployment offering static tanks with from 1,000 to 28,000 litre capacities, rigid and articulated tanker deliveries and bottled water provision, which can be utilised as a backup supply.

During 2010, we supported many large and small scale events by providing over six million litres of potable drinking water.

Water services for events and drinking water supply

Wincanton extends its water supply services to other on-site services such as plumbing. During large-scale events we are able to deploy large static tanks to connect directly to the site plumbing system, or fill on-site header or pillow tanks to maintain a continuous supply through a regular top up service.

For small scale events we provide innovative ‘bag in box’ 1,000 litre static tanks, which are filled at specific agreed locations such as within campsites, car parks, on kerbside and within the arena. We are also able to provide a refill service if required.

Contingency water for the hospitality industry

Wincanton supports commercial users of water, such as hotels and leisure facilities, in the provision of mains supply support during planned disruptions in supply. This service enables hospitality organisations to manage their contingency planning by providing a back-up service as required. We also support private individuals with alternative potable water supplies for swimming pools and header tank replenishment.

Excellent health, safety and hygiene standards

Wincanton operates in an industry where health and safety and hygiene is paramount and Wincanton has a proven track record of delivering industry-leading health, safety and training standards right across our business – our water services are no different. We achieve this through our dedicated health and safety team, with training tailored specifically to each of our customers’ needs. We also carry out stringent internal audits to ensure that our standards meet/exceed the relevant industry legislation.

Wincanton takes its hygiene standards for food grade tankers and static tanks extremely seriously. We ensure that our tanks are cleaned regularly and to the correct standards. We have a dedicated on-site third party cleaning in place at our site in Wincanton, Somerset and our operational team is fully trained in the handling of portable water with HACCP plans in place in order to comply with HSE legislation.
