Safety leadership and performance in construction

Our solutions for the building industry are focused on increasing the level of operational performance, using both innovation and best practice to generate competitive advantage. We focus on safety leadership, cost efficiency and delivering service excellence. We operate through a network of 45 depots stretching the length and breadth of the UK and providing a truly nationwide service

Wincanton promotes and maintains the highest standards of safety and health for all employees and anyone who may be affected by our activities. Our robust health and safety management system is focused on employing a systematic best practice approach to improvement and ensuring that safety is at the heart of our customers’ commercial success.

Wincanton currently chairs the Building Products Delivery Working Group (BPDWG), a committee of industry representatives aiming to improve the safety of delivering building products. The committee works together to create best-practice guidelines for safe working within the construction industry. The latest guide is entitled 'Delivering Safely' and is a pocket guide which is to be distributed widely across the UK to replace the myriad of documents provided by building firms to enforce their health and safety requirements to delivering drivers.
