Wincanton and Unite - Joint statement

End to fuel distribution industrial action at  Kingsbury, Immingham and Stockton-on-Tees 

Following a positive meeting held yesterday with both parties – Wincanton and Unite are pleased to be able to confirm that, on receipt of feedback received from the client this week, all threats in relation to the current industrial action are, with immediate effect, withdrawn.

This is recognised as a very positive step, and will allow the parties to jointly explore all opportunities for future security of employment, whilst at the same time, provides the business with the assurances it needs in relation to continuity of supply for end users, which is acknowledged jointly as a paramount objective.

To this end, a series of meetings have been convened between Wincanton and Unite representatives, over the coming weeks, with the joint aim of achieving long term security of employment.
