Women in logistics let their hair down...

The first ever Women in Logistics Ball was held last Friday,  6th July, providing women in our industry with the perfect opportunity to celebrate how far we've come and show thanks to our supportive companies. It was the perfect excuse to really let our hair down and show off some undiscovered skill on the dance floor!

And it worked... the night was an outstanding success, raising over £6,000 to support Transaid's projects in Africa, through the sale of tickets to the ball and a prize raffle, supported by Wincanton. The night also played host to two new awards: Woman of the Year - won by Adele Waite, DHL and Company of the Year - won by Premier Farnell; congratulations to you both.

After a delicious meal and the awards ceremony, our glamorous hostesses Clare Bottle and Ruth Waring handed the mike over to The Lost Boys and the delighted guests took over the dance floor, to continue the fun, frolics and obligatory networking 'til late.

Thanks a lot to Clare, Ruth, and Women in Logistics for such a memorable night. We look forward to next year and the second edition of what has already become a highlight in the logistics event calendar.
