In 2010, AgustaWestland awarded Wincanton a special achievement award in recognition of ‘continued high level support on site and successful migration of their raw material store to Wincanton’.
Wincanton was recognised for its partnership with BAE Global Combat Systems-Vehicles with their Chairman’s Award, for ‘adding value to readiness and sustainment services’.
In recognition of our partnership with Chevron, Wincanton was named the 2008 Most Admired Carrier in the Africa, Pakistan, Europe (AEP) Region. In the UK alone we carried over three billion litres of fuel and travelled nearly 9.5 million miles without a single lost time injury. We also became the first European carrier to receive a commendation for our customer relations and cost leadership.
In 2010 Wincanton was included in the prestigious "Heinz Golden Circle", a group of top suppliers to Heinz. Wincanton is the only logistics supplier to be included in the group.
In recognition of our partnership with Argos, our site in Corby was proud to receive 'Best in Class Site' at the Home Retail Group's Health and Safety Awards. Corby acheived the highest ever health and safety audit score and impressive year on year reductions in both accidents and the reporting of injuries, diseases and dangerous occurrences regulations (RIDDORS).
Wincanton was awarded the title Total UK's Transport Contractors of the year in recognition of Wincanton's safety culture and behaviour on the total contract.
In January 2011 Wincanton was awarded the Carbon Trust Standard after reducing its carbon emissions by 4.5% over the last three years.
Wincanton's procurement team won the International Purchasing Project of the Year Award. Judges said "The work delivered significant and lasting benefits to the organisation regarding cost and added value. It has developed the capacity and execution of the procurement teams."

Wincanton received the Safety Award from Professor Brian Cox for our behavioural safety initiative implemented on one of our petroleum contracts*, representing the most impressive new step towards enhancing the energy industry's safety record.
*This project was also selected as a finalist for the Institute of Logistic's Excellence Awards earlier this year.
Lynne Watson, commerical development manager, Wincanton, was awarded Woman of the Year Award 2012. The Everywoman judges described Lynne's achievements as ‘awe-inspiring’ and ‘phenomenal’ – they loved her energy, passion and determination. Lynne is an outstanding role model, and one who is encouraging more women to choose a career in transport & logistics. Lynne joins our previous winners Val Morris Cook, The Warehousing Award, Caroline Barber, Rising Star of the year 2010 and Elaine Miller, Woman of the Year 2009.
In 2010 Wincanton was recognised for its 25 years of outstanding commitment to road safety. We take our responsibilities seriously and pride ourselves on having a vehicle fleet that uses the most advanced safety technologies available to reduce risk.
In October 2011 Wincanton won the Partnership Initiative of the Year award for health and safety innovation in the construction sector, with St Gobain and Gundels Transport.
Wincanton is the first company to be awarded the SC21 Gold Award for our Houndstone site. This award joins our five SC21 Silver Awards, all of which demonstrate our continued commitment to developing supply chains that are competitive and able to offer increased value to customers.
Wincanton Defence, in partnership with Aircraft Carrier Alliance won the Public Sector, Services and Utilities Award at this year's European Supply Chain Awards. The ACA is responsible for delivering the QE Class aircraft carriers – the largest, most complex and highest value single-build programme that the UK defence industry has seen. Wincanton has enabled the delivery of measurable benefits through innovative supply chain practices. Handling over six million items with a stock accuracy of 99.94%, is just one of the tangible results that wowed the judges.
Our defence team in Yeovil, which provides support services for AgustaWestland, was recognised as ‘team of the year’ in recognition of their achievements'.
The North of England Excellence Awards are regarded as the North's most prestigious awards and have been held annually since 1994.
In 2010 Wincanton - Heinz NDC (Wigan) were proud winners of the North of England Excellence Award and Wincanton - Screwfix (Trentham) were awarded the Special Award for People & People.
In 2009 Wincanton Heinz NDC (Wigan) were delighted to receive the Special Award for Customer & Customer Results.
One of Wincanton’s rising stars, Jenna Curbishley, won the coveted "Young Manager of the Year" award at the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport’s Annual Awards for Excellence 2012.The award is the latest milestone in Jenna’s history with Wincanton which has seen her go from graduate trainee to full contract manager in just five years.
In the last 12 months Jenna has made significant impacts on two of Wincanton’s fashion customers, Firetrap and Deckers. Ana Lopez, Logistics Manager for Firetrap Ltd, described Jenna as having "a steely reserve to get things done", adding: "She’s never afraid to break the mould with difficult decisions."
